Rob Zepp

Rob Steffen Karl Zepp ( born September 7, 1981 in Newmarket, Ontario ) is a German - Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender. Since 2007 he plays for the Polar Bears Berlin in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. Zepp received German citizenship in early 2008.

Career

Rob Zepp graduated in the 1997/98 season, his first three games for the Newmarket Hurricanes. After that he joined for 3 seasons the Plymouth Whalers of the OHL. In the NHL Entry Draft 1999, he was drawn to 99th place in the fourth round by the Atlanta Thrashers. As of the 2001 /02 season he played for the Florida Everblades in the ECHL, received at the Thrashers but no contract for the NHL. So he was in the NHL Entry Draft in 2001 and was available again this time selected by the Carolina Hurricanes in the fourth round at position 110.

Also for the next two years he remained at the Florida Everblades, but also denied some brief appearances in the AHL Lowell Lock Monsters for, the farm team of the Hurricanes.

In the season 2005/ 06 Rob Zepp moved to Europe in the Finnish SM- liiga for Jokerit Lappeenranta. With this club he managed after a 6- year break, a place in the Championship play-offs. In the season 2006/ 07 he also came for SaPKo Savonlinna used. Since the 2007/ 08 season, Rob Zepp plays for the polar bears Berlin, with whom he won the German championship several times in the following years.

Zepp lives with his wife and two children in Berlin.
