Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Ancona-Osimo
Located in Italy, Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Ancona - Osimo (Latin: Archidioecesis Anconitanus - Auximanus, Italian: Arcidiocesi di Ancona - Osimo ) is an Archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Italy, based in Ancona.
It was built in the 3rd century as a diocese Ancona. On October 19, 1422 it was united to the diocese of Numana Ancona e Numana, under the name and on September 14, 1904 to the archbishopric without suffragans (without seat of a Metropolitan to be ) collected.
On August 15, 1972, the archbishop was elevated to Metropolitan of the bishoprics of Fabriano - Matelica, Jesi, Senigallia and the Territorialprälatur Loreto.
The 500 km ² Archbishopric was united on 30 September 1986 with the Diocese of Osimo and renamed the Archdiocese of Ancona - Osimo.
