Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cosenza-Bisignano

The Archdiocese of Cosenza - Bisignano (Latin: Archidioecesis Cosentinus - Bisinianensis, Italian: Arcidiocesi di Cosenza - San Marco e Bisignano ) is a located in Italy Archdiocese of the Roman Catholic church located in Cosenza.

The Diocese of Cosenza was built in the 7th century and raised to an archbishopric in 1150. On 4 April 1979 it was combined with the territories of the Diocese of San Marco and Bisignano, with the Diocese of San Marco, the diocese of Bisignano formed before the amalgamation of the diocese of Bisignano and renamed to " Archdiocese of Cosenza Bisignano and ". Since 30 September 1986, the diocese has the name " Archdiocese of Cosenza - Bisignano ".

On 30 January 2001, Pope John Paul II elevated it to the Metropolitan Archdiocese and asked him the dioceses Cassano all'Jonio, Rossano Cariati - and San Marco Argentano - Scalea as suffragan dioceses.
