Sakado, Saitama

Sakado (Japanese坂 戸 市, -shi ) is a city in the center of Saitama Prefecture.

Geography

Sakado is located north of Kawagoe and south of Higashimatsuyama.

In the city the rivers coma and Oppe flow.

History

Sakado was in the Edo period post station on the route from Hachioji in Edo to Nikko.

Sakado became a town on September 1, 1976.

Sakado in 1916 on the railroad to the Tōbu Tōjō Main Line, to Tokyo ( Ikebukuro ), and 1943 connected with the Tōbu Ogose- line.
