Saroléa
Saroléa was a Belgian company in Herstal weapons manufactured since 1850. From 1892 onwards there were also bicycles, built in 1896 for a short time motor tricycles and small cars and motorcycles from 1903 to 1960.
History
The first motorcycles were 2.75 - equipped and 3.5 -hp single-cylinder four -stroke engines. From 1906 there was also a two-cylinder V-engine with 5 hp. Developed by Saroléa engines were even exported to England and sold there under the name Kerry. 1914 published a 546- cc engine with side valves. Later, mainly 346 - and produces 496 - cc single-cylinder engines with vertical or overhead valves. Many parts of the motorcycles were from British manufacturers such as Sturmey - Archer (gear ), Amal ( carburettor ), Best & Lloyd ( oil pump ).
Saroléa motorcycles were built in the sporty style of the classic English motorcycles. In the 1930s there was a equipped with OHC engine factory team. 1938, the single-cylinder vertical shaft engines with two overhead camshafts were very successful. From 1950 to 1959 there was a four-stroke parallel twin with initially 500, later 600 cc, the model Atlantic. From the mid- 1950s, they worked in the face of declining motorcycle market closely with the Belgian competition together and produced alongside the classic four-strokes up to 1960, various models with two-stroke engines, some with their own, sometimes with purchased Sachs engines.

Due to the sharp decline in motorcycle sales in the late 1950s, the Saroléa 1960 brand disappeared from the market.
