Sascha Goc

Sascha Goc ( born April 14, 1979 in Calw, Baden- Württemberg ) is a German professional ice hockey player who plays for the Schwenningen Wild Wings from the German Ice Hockey League since the 2013/14 season. During his career he was active among other things for the New Jersey Devils and the Tampa Bay Lightning from the American National Hockey League. He stood several times in the Germany squad, with whom he participated in four World Cups, as well as the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. Sascha Goc is the older brother of the NHL playing for the Florida Panthers Marcel Goc, and the under contract with the Adler Mannheim Nikolai Goc.

Career

Sascha Goc began his hockey career with the ESG Esslingen, from where he transferred to the offspring to Schwenningen 1994. With 16 years of right-handed shooter already completed his first game at the Schwenningen Wild Wings in the DEL. During the 1996/97 season, the trained defenders belonged to the tribe of cadres and 41 times was used, he was able to score four points scorer. Due to the good performances and the talent scouts from the National Hockey League on Goc were next to the person in charge of some DEL clubs, attentive, so that it has been selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1997 by the New Jersey Devils in the sixth round at 159th position. His first year in North America, the right-handed shooter spent mainly in the American Hockey League with the Albany River Rats, the former farm team of the New Jersey Devils.
