Schaerbeek (French ) or Schaerbeek (Dutch ) is one of 19 municipalities of the Brussels-Capital region of Belgium.

Schaerbeek / Schaerbeek has 127 747 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2012) to only eight square kilometers and is named after the city of Brussels itself is the second largest municipality of the Brussels- Capital Region. The municipality is located north of the center of Brussels and borders, except to the core city of Brussels, on the part of communities Saint-Josse-ten-Noode/Sint-Joost-ten-Node, Evere, Woluwe-Saint-Lambert/Sint-Lambrechts-Woluwe and Woluwe -Saint-Pierre/Sint-Pieters-Woluwe.

History

Schaerbeek was once known by the cultivation of sour cherries. Still prefer the Belgian brewer an old Schaarbeeker of cherry for producing Kriek beer. The cherries are not grown more in the urban area. Traffic
