Schlossrued

Schlossrued (Swiss German: ʃlɔs ː ˌ ruəd ) is a municipality in the district of Kulm in the canton of Aargau. It is located in Ruedertal in the south of Canton.

Geography

The municipality is located in the lower part of the Ruedertals, which is drained by the Ruederche and is bounded on both sides by hills. The valley floor is in the upper part is less than 50 feet wide, but widens at the lower part to a width of around 250 meters from. The northeastern side of the valley is heavily dissected and consists of numerous short side valleys with intervening foothills of the gallows moss and Sämlen ( 643 m asl. ) ( 654 m asl. ); these form the border with Wynental. The southwestern side of the valley is evenly shaped and rises to the castle and to the edge of Rötler Plateau at ( 649 m asl. ); this limits the Ruedertal on the Suhrental. One kilometer southeast of the main settlement is the village of Schlossrued Kirchrued where the only church of the entire valley is. In addition, numerous individual farms are scattered throughout the municipality.

The area of the municipality is 725 hectares, of which 226 hectares are forested and built over 57 hectares. The highest point is located on 680 meters at the edge of the Rötler Plateau, the deepest at 475 meters at the Ruederche.

Neighboring municipalities are Schöftland the northwest, Unterkulm in the north, Oberkulm in the east, in the southeast Schmiedrued, Kirchleerau in the south and Season Bach in the West.

History

The settlement of the Ruedertales took place on the 5th and 6th centuries by the Alemanni, who cleared the dense jungle. 1160 were in the Acta Murensia the monastery Muri first time the " Lords of Ruoda " mentioned.
