Scott Munroe

Scott Munroe ( born January 20, 1982 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender who stands since June 2013 at the Växjö Lakers Hockey in the Svenska ligands under contract.

Career

Scott Munroe began his career as a hockey player in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League, in which he appointed both to the best goalkeeper in the league in 2002, as was also elected to the First All -Star Team. Then he attended for four years, the University of Alabama in Huntsville, for their hockey team, he was active in the National Collegiate Athletic Association before he was towards the end of the 2005/06 season his debut in professional hockey for the Philadelphia Phantoms of the American Hockey League. In these he was also in the following three seasons under contract before he was transferred to the 2009/10 season by the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League. In these he was throughout the season, but only for their AHL farm team Bridgeport Sound Tigers used.

For the season 2010/11 Munroe was committed by Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk of the Kontinental Hockey League. In July 2011, Munroe signed a Zweiwegvertrag for one year with the Pittsburgh Penguins and played for their farm team, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in the American Hockey League. In the 2012/13 season, he was active for the Adirondack Phantoms before he was hired in June 2013 by the Växjö Lakers.
