Sergey Karasev

Sergei Vasilyevich Karasev (Russian: Сергей Васильевич Карасёв; engl transcription. Sergey Karasev, born 26 October 1993 in St. Petersburg, Russia ) is a Russian professional basketball player. Zurletzt he played in the Russian PBL for Triumph Ljuberzy. Since 2013 is at the Cleveland Cavaliers under contract.

Club career

Since his youth Karasev plays for Triumph and is trained by his father Vasily Karasev. Even as a 17 -year-old took Karasev at the U -19 World Cup 2011 in Riga part and was third with Russia. In the same year he played his first games in the PBL for Triumph and the 2010/11 season even became the MVP of the 25th match day selected. The next year he reached the quarterfinals of the Triumph Baltic Basketball League and the third place in the FIBA Euro Challenge 2012. According to the end of the season 2011/12 he was elected team in the PBL Second. He stayed one more season in triumph and was named the best young player of the VTB United League 2012/13. He participated in the Nike Hoop Summit in 2013 and volunteered for the NBA Draft 2013.

When NBA Draft 2013 Karasev was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers to 19th place.

National

After Karasev had given in July 2012 in Venezuela during the qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games in 2012 his debut in the Russian national team, he was a member of the team that won the game for third place against Argentina at the Olympic Games in London.
