Shiraz International Airport is located 11 km southeast of Shiraz, Iran. It is the main international airport of the province of Fars. In the region around the airport 4,336,878 people ( 2006 census ).
Terminal
Shiraz International Airport has an area of 500 hectares over three airport terminals, for arrival and departure of international flights and two for domestic flights.
After renovations in 2005, the airport Shiraz as the second reliable and modern airport in Iran after Imam Khomeini International Airport of Tehran in terms of flight safety including electronic navigation and control systems has been classified.
Destinations
In addition to domestic flights to most major Iranian cities, several flights to the States in the Persian Gulf region, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, Sudan, Russia and Turkey are dispatched daily.
Shiraz Military Air Base
The Shiraz Airport is also known as Tadayon Air Base (in short: TAB 7) used by the Iranian Air Force. After unbestägtigen information should there be the Tactical Fighter Wing 71st, 72nd and 83rd stationed next three transport squadrons and one helicopter squadron.
