Shropshire Council

Shropshire is a unitary authority in the county of Shropshire in England. Administrative seat is the town of Shrewsbury.

The Shropshire unitary authority was formed on 1 April 2009 from the non- metropolitan county of Shropshire. At the same time the five Districts Bridgnorth, North Shropshire, Oswestry, Shrewsbury and Atcham and South Shropshire have been dissolved and its powers to the Council of Shropshire ( Shropshire Council) transmitted. Since then, there is a ceremonial county of Shropshire from the Shropshire and Telford unitary authorities and Wrekin.
