Simon Wald is a municipality in Simonswälder valley, part of the southern Black Forest in the southwest of Baden-Württemberg in the district Emmendingen, about 25 km north-east of Freiburg im Breisgau.

Geography

The elongated, multinucleated place Simon forest covers almost all good inhabitable valley floor along the Wild Gutach. Apart from the upper reaches of the valley is called Simonswälder valley. History

Simon forest was first mentioned in 1178 and was among the possessions of the convent of St. Margaret in Waldkirch.
