Christian Adolph " Sonny " Jurgensen III ( born August 23, 1934 in Wilmington, North Carolina, USA) is an American former American football player. He played as a quarterback in the National Football League ( NFL ) for the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Redskins.

Youth

Sonny Jurgensen attended school in his native town and was already active during his childhood as football, baseball and basketball players. As a student he was city champion in tennis. From 1948 to 1953 he attended the High School, where he also played football, basketball and baseball.
