Steve Hirschi

Steve Hirschi ( born September 18, 1981 in Grosshöchstetten ) is a Swiss ice hockey player who is under contract with HC Lugano in the Swiss National League A since 2003.

Career

Steve Hirschi began his career as a hockey player in the youth of the SCL Tigers, for their first team, he made his debut in the National League A in the 1998/99 season. After five years with Langnau in the NLA the defender moved before the 2003/04 season to their league rivals HC Lugano. For Lugano Hirschi plays since then and in 2006 was the first time in his career, Swiss champion.

Internationally

For Switzerland Hirschi took part in the U18 World Youth Championship in 1999, as well as the U20 Junior World Championship 2001 part. In addition, he was in the squad of Switzerland at the World Championships in 2002, 2004 and 2007, and the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin.
