Steve Wagner (ice hockey)

Steven Lee "Steve" Wagner ( born March 6, 1984 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota ) is an American professional ice hockey player who is since June 2011 the Adler Mannheim in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga under contract.

Career

Steve Wagner began his career as a hockey player in the Junior League United States Hockey League in which he was active for the Des Moines Buccaneers and Tri -City Storm 2002-2004. He then spent three years at the Minnesota State University, Mankato and played in parallel for their hockey team in the National Collegiate Athletic Association. On 20 March 2007, the defender received a contract as a free agent with the St. Louis Blues, for their farm team Peoria Rivermen he gave towards the end of the 2006/07 season his debut in professional hockey when he was in 14 games a goal and two assists achieved in the American Hockey League. In the following two seasons, he was about equally often for the farm team in the AHL Peoria Rivermen and for the St. Louis Blues in the National Hockey League action. In 46 NHL games, he scored a collection of twelve points scorer, with four goals for St. Louis.

Once Wagner had started the season 2009/10 exclusively with the Peoria Rivermen in the AHL, he was transferred to the Pittsburgh Penguins on 11 February 2010 in exchange for Nate Guenin, for their AHL farm team in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins he consequence regularly stood on the ice. For the season 2011/12 Wagner signed a one year contract at the Adler Mannheim in the DEL.
