Sunred Engineering
Sun Race Engineering Development SL, short Sunred (or SUNRED or SunRed ), also sometimes referred to as SEAT SWISS, is founded in 2005 Spanish Motorsport team. It is mainly known for his involvement in the World Touring Car Championship and in GT racing.
History
World Touring Car Championship
Sunred participates in the World Touring Car Championship since the beginning of the 2008 season. As a driver Tom Coronel was 2.0 TFSI committed in the Seat Leon for the entire season. There is also an additional car for those drivers was provided, who scored the most points at the previous weekend in the Seat Leon Eurocup. One of these drivers was 2008 Tom Boardman, who in addition to Sunred Coronel played the entire season in 2009. Coronel was 2009 best private driver and Sunred the best private team.
In 2010 Sunred went as a factory-supported team SR- Sport with the former Seat Sport drivers Gabriele Tarquini, Tiago Monteiro, Jordi Gené and Tom Coronel in Seat Leon 2.0 TDI cars. Furthermore, under the name Sunred two other Seat Leon 2.0 TDI were used for Michel Nykjær and Fredy Barth.
2011 sat Sunred regularly a six seat vehicles in the World Touring Car Championship. For the team Lukoil SUNRED started Gabriele Tarquini and Aleksei Dudukalo for SUNRED Engineering Michel Nykjær, Tiago Monteiro and Pepe Oriola. Fredy Barth started at the mention of Seat Swiss Racing by SUNRED. In the course of the season, all drivers switched from Seat Leon 2.0 TDI on the SUNRED SR Leon 1.6T. Hiroki Yoshimoto and André Couto completed each one Gastart in Japan and Macau.
In 2012 Sunred was represented in the World Touring Car Championship. As Tuenti Racing team the whole season were used on vehicles for Tiago Monteiro and Pepe Oriola; Fernando Monje completed a guest stint in Curitiba. As SUNRED Engineering team sat irregular periods Seats for Andrea Barlesi and Fernando Monje.
Gran Turismo
Since 2005 Sunred start in the Spanish GT Championship and since 2006 in the International GT Open. Since 2007, the team used the self-developed Sunred SR21.
In 2012 Sunred sat in the FIA GT1 World Championship by going only a Ford GT, even though the regulations prescribed two vehicles per team. The series promoter SRO initiated the use to fill the field and announced before the season that Sunred could compete with Indian nomination to have a local team at the start of the final in India.
Make cups
Sunred also continued on a regular basis a range of vehicles in the Spanish Seat Leon Supercopa and 2008-2010 in the Seat Leon Eurocup. Oscar Nogués 2008 could win the Eurocup, 2009 Freddy Barth was with Sunred third and last year of the series, Michaël Rossi secured the vice-championship.
