Swimming at the 2012 Summer Olympics – Women's marathon 10 kilometre
The 10 km open water swimming for women at the 2012 Olympic Games in London was held on 9 August 2012 at the Serpentine Lake in Hyde Park. 25 athletes took part.
The race was held in a final run.

Qualification criteria
For the competition, 25 athletes had qualified:
- Ten swimmers who occupied the first ten places at the World Swimming Championships 2011 in Shanghai
- Nine swimmers that the qualifying competition of Setúbal (Portugal ) on 8/9 June 2012 took the top nine places
- Five swimmers who represented the five continental associations of FINA and which were determined by their placement in the qualifying competition of Setúbal
- A swimmer from the host nation

Of the 24 swimmers started, the Chinese Yanqiao did not occur at the start, came 22 to the finish. In the fourth round, the Brazilian Okimoto was brought into the lifeboat. Eliana Alves, spokeswoman for the Brazilian team, said the athlete had suffered from hypothermia. The South African Roux was brought out of the water.
