Tatra 54

The Tatra 54 was the saving type of middle-class type 52, the Tatra factory brought out in Nesselsdorf 1931.

The vehicle had a top -controlled, air-cooled four -cylinder boxer engine with only 1465 cc displacement and 22 hp ( 16.2 kW). The engine drove via a multi-plate dry clutch and four-speed transmission with floor shift the rear wheels. The new top speed of about 1100 kg car was 80 km / h The chassis had a central tube, a front axle with transverse leaf spring in relation to the type 30/52 improved design and a hingeless oscillating rear axle, also with a transverse leaf spring. The wheels were designed as slices.

There were several 4 - and 6- seater sedan structures with 2 or 4 doors. Within 3 years a total of 1510 copies were manufactured.
