Geography
Täuffelen is located on the southern shore of Lake Biel. The municipality belongs to the district of Gerolfingen, why is the name of the community itself Täuffelen - Gerolfingen. The neighboring communities of north clockwise are starting Mörigen, Epsach, Walperswil and Hagneck.
History
Both towns have Celtic roots and were first documented in the 13th and 14th centuries. Some Pfahlbaufunde on the shores of Lake Biel, prove the settlement in the Neolithic period. The counts of Fenis and then the Counts of Neuchâtel are occupied as ruler of Täuffelen before it was assigned as part of the county Nidau the Bernese bailiff Nidau .

School
The Oberstufenzentrum Täuffelen is the regional public school for youth 7th to 9th grades. Catchment area: Hagneck, Epsach, Täuffelen - Gerolfingen, Mörigen and Sutz- Lattrigen. About 20 teachers teach an average of 180 students in 10 classes.
The school has facilities and infrastructure, which are important for culture, clubs and leisure facilities in the region: gym, indoor pool, auditorium, multipurpose room, library, air raid shelter and football pitch.
