Thomas L. Glenn

Thomas Louis Glenn (* February 2, 1847 in Bardwell, Carlisle County, Kentucky, † November 18, 1918 in Montpelier, Idaho ) was an American politician. Between 1901 and 1903 he represented the state of Idaho in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Early years and political beginnings

Thomas Glenn attended after elementary school, the Commercial College in Evansville. During the Civil War he was a soldier in the army of the Confederate States. In 1864 he was wounded, captured by Union troops and detained in the Transylvania University in Lexington. He was later pardoned and released. After the war, Thomas Glenn 1874-1882 senior official at the Ballard County. He joined the successful in these years Populist Party and was from 1887 to 1891 member of the Senate from Kentucky.

More political career

After studying law and was admitted to his 1890 attorney Thomas Glenn moved to Montpelier, Idaho, where he worked as a lawyer. In the congressional elections of 1900, he was selected for the state of Idaho in the U.S. House of Representatives, where he replaced Edgar Wilson on March 4, 1901. Glenn completed only one term in Congress. In 1902 he not applied for a re-election; his seat was on March 4, 1903, the Republicans Burton L. French. In 1904, Glenn was elected mayor of Montpelier. In this city he was still working as a lawyer. He is also passed in 1918.
