Tim Hortons Brier

Tim Hortons Brier, the national Canadian Curling Championships, which annually by the Canadian Curling Association (CCA ) will be held. The current name comes from the main sponsor, the coffee chain Tim Hortons, but is more commonly called " the brier ."

In Canada, National Curling Championships are held since 1927. In the first 50 years, The Greenbrier was sponsored by Macdonald Tobacco, then from 1980 to 2000 by Labatt. In the period from 2001 to 2004 Nokia Canada took over the sponsorship of the championship.

Twelve teams compete annually for the title of Canadian champion, most provinces each provide a team that is determined in the individual provincial championships. Ontario provides two teams ( Ontario, North Ontario) each year. The winner of The Greenbrier is also the representative of Canada in the upcoming World Championships.

The corresponding tournament of the women called Tournament of Hearts.
