Tønder Municipality

Tønder Kommune ( German municipality Tønder ) is a commune in the Region Syddanmark in southern Denmark (North Schleswig ), which, in the wake of the Danish municipal reform on 1 January 2007 by merging the "old" Tønder municipality with the former municipalities Højer, Bredebro, Skærbæk Nørre - Rangstrup and Løgumkloster has emerged. The municipality has 38 686 inhabitants ( 1 January 2013) in an area of ​​1281.80 km ².
