Tomáš Duba

Tomáš Duba ( born July 2, 1981 in Prague, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech professional ice hockey goaltender who stands since January 2013 at the Krefeld Penguins in the German Ice Hockey League contract.

Career

Tomáš Duba began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior section of the HC Sparta Prague in which he was active until 2001. Players out on loan as he completed in parallel in the 1999/2000 season, a game for the HC Slany in the third-tier league and second in the 2000 /01 season eight games for the first team of HC Berounsti Medvědi in the first second-rate league. He was then selected in the seventh round in the NHL Entry Draft in 2001 as a total 217 players from the Pittsburgh Penguins, for whom he never played, however. Instead, the goalkeeper ran from 2001 to 2003 for Jokerit in Lappeenranta in the Finnish SM- liiga. He then spent a year each in the Czech Extraliga during HC Orli Znojemští and the HC Lasselsberger Plzeň. In his time at HC Orli Znojemští he was also elected as the rookie of the year the Extraliga.

In the season 2005/ 06 stood at Duba Leksand IF in the Swedish Elitserien between the posts. With the team he rose from the end of the season in the second-class HockeyAllsvenskan, after which he left the club. The 2006/07 season he joined TPS Turku in the SM- liiga. There he had starting problems and could not convince why he returned to HC Sparta Prague, with whom he was in the playoffs Czech champion in his eight stakes. After another year and a half, the Czech again received the opportunity to play in the SM- liiga, and joined Ässät Pori, where he played a total of 15 games in the 2008 /09 season. The entire 2009/10 season he spent at HC Ocelari Třinec. The following season he started at HC Ocelari Třinec, but which gave him after only four missions until the end of the season league rivals HC Zlín.

For the season 2011/12 was committed by Duba HC Lev Poprad from the Kontinental Hockey League. End of January, he was loaned to the Piráti Chomutov from the sub-prime 1st League, with whom he made the ascent in the Extraliga. Beginning of November 2012 he moved to the Italian Serie A1, where he signed the reigning record holder HC Bolzano. Since January 20 2013 Duba is in the service of the DEL teams Krefeld Penguins, where he signed a contract until the end of the season.

Internationally

For Duba Czech Republic took part in the U18 World Youth Championship in 1999 and the U20 World Junior Championships in 2000 and 2001 at junior level. In the U-20 World Championships in 2000 and 2001 he won with his team in each World Championship title. In the 2001 tournament he also pointed with 1.14 goals against per game and with the lowest Gegentorschnitt 94.7 percent, the highest catch rate and was also voted best goalkeeper. In the senior level, he stood in 2005 and 2008 in the squad of his country at the Euro Hockey Tour.
