The Toro Rosso STR7 is the seventh Formula 1 racing cars of the Scuderia Toro Rosso. It is used in the 2012 Formula 1 season, engine supplier Ferrari. On February 6, 2012, he was presented at the Circuito de Jerez public.

Technology and Development

The Toro Rosso STR7 is the successor of the Toro Rosso STR6. An unusual event the cars are " hump " in the area of the front suspension. However, the front end in the version with the presentation was different than the other team. From the team a revision of the front was announced at the launch. Further changes to previous model were made to the rear end. The Toro Rosso STR7 was developed under the direction of chef Giorgio Ascanelli technology.

The engine, a 2.4 liter V8 engine comes from Ferrari. The tires are provided as with all other teams by Pirelli.

Paint and sponsorship

The Toro Rosso STR7 is painted in dark blue color. Due to the sponsor logos Cepsa and Red Bull has the STR7 shades of red. Cepsa advertises on the rear wing, Red Bull on the engine cover and the side boxes. Other major sponsors include NOVA Chemicals and Falcon.

Driver

The team changed his driver duo. Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne, funded both for quite some time Toro Rosso owner of Red Bull, received the cockpit. Ricciardo was already active in 2011 for HRT in Formula 1. Vergne will make his Formula 1 debut. Both riders started in the previous year in Formula Renault 3.5.
