Geographical Location

Trabitz lies in the valley of the Haidenaab, northwest of Pressath.

Neighboring communities

History

The population of the area was already more than 800 years ago by Slavs. Burkhardsreuth celebrated its 800th anniversary in 1986. The largest landowner in Preißach, Pichlberg and Feiler village was until the secularization in 1803 the Premonstratensian Speinshart. The Hirschberg family had from 1625 until the 19th century, the Landsassengut Weiherberg in their possession. 1808/10 the tax district Preißach was formed, to which also belonged Trabitz. The municipality Preißach was erected in 1818 by the municipality edict in Bavaria.

Incorporations

The church today Trabitz was formed 1 July 1972, during the territorial reform of the former municipality Preißach, the municipality Weiherberg and areas of the community Pichlberg. On 1 January 1975 Feiler village and Weiherberg were added. The municipality was Preißach community. On 20 October 1978 she was renamed after the town of Trabitz, where since 1962 the local council has its headquarters.

Trabitz has a station on the regional rail line Kirchenlaibach - willow, which is operated by the Agilis.

Established businesses

The largest employer in the community is the French automotive supplier Faurecia with a plant in Trabitz. The operation was formerly part of the Leistritz Group ( Nuremberg)

Education

  • Association of Schools of basic and middle school on Rauhen Kulm. Since the school year 2011/12 Speinshart is the only school location.
