UEFA Futsal Euro 2014

The 9th European Futsal Championship 2014 was held from 28 January to 8 February in Antwerp ( Belgium). At the tournament participated twelve teams that competed first in groups and then in the knockout system against each other. After 2003, Italy celebrated the second title win at a European Championship.

The games were shown in live broadcast or recorded on Euro Sports and Euro Sports 2.

Qualification

Venues

The European Championship was held for the fifth time at two different venues, which were located but in a city ( Antwerp). The preliminary round was held in the Lotto Arena. The hall has a capacity of 5,218 spectators. The final round was held in the Sportpaleis with a capacity of 15,089 spectators.

Participant

The European Championship 2014 was played for the third time with twelve teams. Belgium qualified automatically as hosts. To the remaining 11 places fought a total of 42 nations. In the first round, the 24 teams were playing with the worst UEFA coefficient in four groups against each other. The group winners came in the next round where they were drawn together with the 18 remaining teams in six groups of four. The group winners and five best runners who qualified for the finals.

The twelve finalists were drawn into four groups.
