Unfinished Music No.. 2: Life with the Lions is the second album that John Lennon recorded together with his girlfriend and future wife Yoko Ono. It was released on May 9, 1969.
Genesis
The second part of the " Unfinished Music", which documented the common life of John Lennon and Yoko Ono appeared on Zapple, a sub- label Apple Records. This is like the previous album Unfinished Music No.1: Two Virgins by an avant-garde album.
The first track of the album, Cambridge 1969, taken on March 2, 1969 live at the Lady Mitchell Hall, Cambridge, where Yoko Ono accepts the " vocals " while John Lennon produced with his electric guitar called feedback noise, as other musicians functioned John Tchicai (saxophone ) and John Stevens (drums). The other tracks on the album were recorded with a tape recorder between 4 to 25 November 1968 except Two Minutes Silence, which, as the title indicates, consists of two minutes of silence. In No Bed for Beatle John both different newspaper article texts sing in front of which include their former private life. When baby 's heartbeat you can hear the heartbeat of the unborn child of John Lennon and Yoko Ono. For radio play Lennon steered manually with a radio several radio stations and took on these sounds.
The cover
The cover photo on the front of the album was photographed by Susan Wood at London's Queen Charlotte Hospital in November 1968. It shows John Lennon and Yoko Ono, due to complications during pregnancy by Yoko Ono and their subsequent miscarriage were staying from 4 to 25 November 1968's. The back cover was the Daily Mirror removed; It shows John Lennon and Yoko Ono, the ringed by police, were arrested on October 18, 1968 for possession of hashish.
Publication
The album was not able to place in the British charts in the U.S., it reached # 174 The remastered CD re-release on June 3, 1997 by Rykodisc Records and contains the two previously unreleased bonus tracks from the " Sessions" at the Queen Charlotte Hospital Song Mulberry for John and Yoko Ono. Both tracks John Lennon and Yoko Ono playing acoustic guitar sings.
