United Nations Security Council Resolution 1999

Resolution 1999 of the UN Security Council is a resolution that was decided by the UN Security Council without a vote on 13 July 2011. With the resolution of the Security Council of the United Nations General Assembly has proposed that South Sudan is admitted to membership in the United Nations. The resolution follows the request of the South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit. With inclusion of South Sudan, the United Nations now have 193 member states.
