United Nations Security Council Resolution 1980
Resolution 1980 of the UN Security Council is a resolution that was decided by the United Nations Security Council unanimously at its 6525th meeting, on 28 April 2011. It deals with the situation in the government crisis in Ivory Coast 2010/2011.

The Security Council extended by Resolution 1980, the arms embargo on the Ivory Coast for one year.
Also the travel ban on Gbagbo and several of his confidants was extended.
Reactions
The Ivorian ambassador to the UN in New York Youssoufou Bamba, welcomed the resolution on behalf of Alassane Ouattara.
