The Université du Québec à Montréal ( UQAM ) is a French-speaking public university in Montreal. It was founded on April 9, 1969 by the merger of the École des Beaux- Arts de Montréal, the Collège Sainte -Marie and three other universities, is the composite of the Université du Québec at. A total of 41,000 students study at six faculties or school of economics, the " École des sciences de la gestion " (ESG - 13,000 students). They are taught by 973 professors and 1,786 lecturers.
The campus was designed by Dimitri Dimakopoulos and is located in downtown Montreal, near the Metro station Berri- UQAM. Several buildings are connected by the Ville souterraine directly to this station.
