Geography

Unsleben is located in the Main- Rhön. There is only the district Unsleben. At the southeastern outskirts Els joins the cluster.

History

Unsleben was first mentioned in 1162 as the seat of a local noble family in records. The former Bishopric of Würzburg here shared the rule with the Barons von Habermann, until it was secularized in 1803 in Bavaria's favor. 1805, the field against the Tyrol was reversed and finally fell in 1814 with the rights of the Habermann in Bavaria.
