Hollstadt is located in the Main- Rhön.

History

The first documentary mention of the place is controversial and was either the year 800 or the year 808 as Uulunastat as Holnstat. After a letter of privileges Emperor Frederick I Barbarossa the Cistercian monastery Bildhausen received 1157 rights in place. The office of the Prince-Bishopric of Würzburg from 1500 belonged to the Frankish Empire circle. It was, after secularization in 1803 in Bavaria's favor, leave 1805 Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany to form the Grand Duchy of Würzburg and fell with this 1814 final at Bayern.

Incorporations

At the local government reform in Bavaria, the formerly independent communities Wargolshausen and Junkershausen were incorporated on 1 January 1978.
