Will Mars is a municipality in the Lower Franconian district of Rhön - grave field and a member of the administrative community Ostheim vor der Rhön.

Will Mars is located in the region Main- Rhön in the triangle Hesse - Bavaria - Thuringia.

Community structure

The municipality Willmars has four officially named districts:

  • Oberfilke
  • Unterfilke
  • Völkershausen
  • Willmars

There are the districts Filke, Völkershausen and Willmars.

History

Will Mars belonged to the Counts of Botenlauben, a branch line of the Counts of Henneberg. Count Otto II von Henneberg - Botenlauben joined the site in 1230 to the monastery of Fulda from. The place was a pledge to the Counts of Henneberg - Römhild and was erworden 1453 from the line Henneberg - Schleusingen and affiliated with the Office Maßfeld. After they died in 1583 the place was part of the Duchy of Saxony. He was a member from 1680 to the Duchy of Saxe-Meiningen. One half of the place was grand sächisch, the other belonged Ganerben, who belonged to the imperial knights. Upper and Unterfilke and Völkershausen belonged until 1803 to the imperial knights ( Lords of stone).

Will Mars came in 1808 with Filke, Völkershausen, Neustädtles and Sands to the Grand Duchy of Würzburg of Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany. This had brought here the rights (village and township government ) of the duchy of Saxe - Meiningen by a treaty in 1808. 1814 was the place and its present-day districts of Bavaria. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.

Incorporations

On 1 July 1971 the then independent municipality Filke was incorporated. On April 1, 1972, added Völkershausen.

Population Development

Policy

Mayor 's Reimund Voss ( SPD FWG ). He was elected as the successor to Wolf Pittorf ( Civil Union) in 2002 and confirmed in 2008 with 84.17 % of votes in office. The council consists of eight members. All belong to the SPD - FWG.

The municipal tax revenue amounted to the equivalent of € 247,000 in 1999, which amounted to the trade tax revenues ( net) converted € 65,000.

It was in 1998 according to official statistics in the manufacturing sector twelve, and in trade and transport, no social insurance contributions at the workplace. In other areas, were employed to social security at the workplace 44 people. Social insurance contributions at residence, there were a total of 220 in the manufacturing sector, there were three farms, in construction 0 companies. In addition, in 1999, there were seven farms with an agricultural area of 610 ha, of which 508 ha of arable land and 102 ha of permanent grassland.

Attractions

  • Ruin wall skull between Willmars and Filke
  • Jewish cemetery on the outskirts of Willmars on the boundary of the neighboring community Neustädtles. Was established in 1727 by the Hessian Baron Carl Ludwig Schenck of pig mountain. Today there are still about 370 grave stones to be found there. The cemetery is in excellent condition. It is divided into an older and a newer half.
  • Evangelical Church with tower basement from the Romanesque period. Wall paintings in the choir of the pre-Reformation period. Received in 1590 renovated pulpit and baptismal font from 1592. Church tower with welscher hood and lantern in the present form since 1719/20, Clock Tower since 1793. The organ dates from 1759.
