Herb city is located in the Main- Rhön.
Community structure
Herb city is divided into four districts:
- Breitensee
- Dörfleshof
- Herbstadt
- Ottelmannshausen
There are the districts Breitensee, Herbstadt and Ottelmannshausen.
History
The lands on the territory of today Herbstadt included at the end of the 8th century, first to the monastery of Fulda. From the middle of the 13th century Herbstadt part of the county Henneberg (from 1245 nursing Coburg, from 1317 the Office Heldburg ). 1354 came Herbstadt then to the Bishopric of Würzburg (Official Königshofen ). From 1500 the place was in the Frankish Empire circle.
1803 Herb city was secularized in Bavaria's favor, then leave in the Peace of Pressburg 1805, Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany to form the Grand Duchy of Würzburg, with which it finally fell to Bavaria in 1814. Natural Monuments
- On the outskirts is a small-leaved lime. In the lower nature conservation authority of the district Rhön- grave field it is registered as a natural monument. In 2011, the tribe had a circumference of 6.10 m and a height of 7.50 meters meters at the place of its smallest diameter.
- North of Herb city is the 212 -acre nature reserve " Popp wood " that could be created here by the boundary layer on the former inner German border.
