Verano Brianza

Verano Brianza is a northern Italian municipality ( comune ) with 9285 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012) in the province of Monza and Brianza in Lombardy. The community is located approximately 11.5 kilometers north-northwest of Monza and about 24 kilometers north of Milan. By Verano Brianza flows west of the village of the Lambro.

History

The name of the village probably derives from the Roman Marcus Antonius Vero; later the name changed to the present toponym. The addition of the term Brianza served in differentiating eponymous municipality in South Tyrol.

Through the community, the Strada Statale 36 del Lago di Como e dello Spluga leading from Milan coming to the Northern Italian lakes to Chiavenna.
