Special

It is the oldest known secular cantata Bach. In addition, it represents the first known work of Bach for a larger orchestra and is the first evidence for cooperation between the composer and the poet Salomon Franck. It consists of a sequence of 15 rather short recitatives, arias and choruses that are relatively free, that is often not consistent with the usual at that time form scheme. The hunting character of the music is enhanced by the use of two horns. The guided in the pastoral character of the Pales two recorders aria Sheep may safely graze is of far more than the cantata itself also well-known theorem.
