Name

Etymology

Your name, the municipality Western reason of their position in a side of the Kahlgrund. The name of Western reason derives from Westerbach (Originally Western bald or only Western) from which flows through it and empties into Schöllkrippen in the Kahl. Popularly the church " Weestern " is called.

History

The church today Westerngrund includes mostly areas that belonged to the Counts of Schönborn Office Krombach, the 1806 mediated by the Principality of Aschaffenburg and with this 1814 ( now a department of the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt ) came to Bavaria. Coat of arms
