Wyn Hoop
Wyn Hoop ( civil Winfried Lüssenhop; * May 29, 1936 in Hannover ) is a German pop singer, and author.
Life
Winfried Lüssenhop took guitar lessons from the age of twelve piano and. After school he did an apprenticeship at the post office. In the early 1950s he founded the jazz band " The Capitellos ". The band was invited to various radio shows, also acted in musical comedies and musicals (eg, " Oh Louise ...") with. End of the 1950s saw the first recordings. Nevertheless, the band broke up in 1958. Winfried Lüssenhop made incidentally solo recordings, first as Fred Lyssen, then as Fried Lüssen and finally as Wyn Hoop.
1960 got Wyn Hoop his chance as a soloist. He took the title Bonne nuit, ma cherie, with which he won the German preliminary decision to Euro Vision Song Contest 1960. At the next international competition his song reached a fourth place (11 points). This Wyn Hoops began career as a solo singer, in which he recorded mainly German cover versions of English songs by Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley and Johnny Preston. Larger popularity reached Are you lonely tonight, although the same title with Peter Alexander was a huge hit.
In 1962 he participated together with Pirkko Mannola to the German Schlager Festival in Baden -Baden. Their common title mom got to see you reached the fourth place and was the beginning of a range of other recordings.
Wyn Hoop is since 1961 married to the Viennese singer Andrea Horn, who also appeared under the stage name Hedi Prien.
In 1961 Wyn Hoop also starred in the film A star falls from heaven. From 1964, he took with his wife Andrea Horn ( Duo Wyn and Andrea ) on records. With it he made several concert tours at home and abroad. Her repertoire was mainly folk and traditional music.
In the 1970s, Wyn Hoop dedicated to the hit talent. He discovered the singer Oliver Bendt, who later became lead singer of the Goombay Dance band.
1978 Hoop Wyn and Andrea Horn retired from show business. Since then she has published several sailing books. She also wrote travel reports and articles for magazines and newspapers.
