Ireen Sheer
Ireen Sheer ( born February 25, 1949 in Romford, England; actually Ireen Wooldridge ) is a German -British pop singer and actress, who grew up bilingual.
Career
Ireen Sheer is the daughter of an English father and a German mother. It was discovered in 1961 in a talent competition and completed parallel to their success as a bank clerk. Before she devoted herself since 1970 her solo career, she worked among others with pop groups like Family Dogg together.
From 1970 she devoted herself to her solo career, initially with English recordings. In view of the fact that she had grown up bilingual, Polydor recognized the possibility of the British hit Hey Pleasure Man in the version of Oh Holiday also in the German -speaking market. After the title Goodbye Mama, who is listed in the top 5 in the German charts since 1973, she was placed with her albums in 2005 and 2008 in the album charts.
In addition to her solo recordings Ireen Sheer sang duets with her then-husband Gavin du Porter, Bernhard Brink, Gilbert Becaud and Cliff Richard.
Film and Television
After her breakthrough with Goodbye Mom Ireen Sheer turned in the summer of 1973, together with her colleague Chris Roberts the movie if every day were a Sunday, a mix of music and film comedy of errors. Other performers have included Peter Weck, Lotte Ledl and Georg Thomalla. The film was shown in German cinemas on 19 October 1973.
As a singer was and is Ireen Sheer guest in many German television music shows. Between the 1970s and 1990s, she often appeared in the ZDF hit parade. Ireen Sheer is one of the few pop singers that occurs even in big TV shows of private TV, such as 2007 in the show The Ultimate Chart Show on RTL. Your title Fire reached number 6 in 1985 sang Ireen Sheer then together with Margo, Franck Olivier, Chris Roberts, Diane Solomon & Malcolm Roberts again for Luxembourg. Your title Children, Kinder, Enfants reached number 13
She took two more times at German preliminaries in part: 1976 with disposable water, wine and once in 2002 with It's never too late, together with Bernard Butler, but could not qualify.
Private life
Ireen Sheer was married 24 years with Gavin du Porter; they separated in 2000 Since the end of 2001 Ireen Sheer lives with her manager Klaus -Jürgen Kahl together in Ellmau. ; they married in August 2010.
