Yelena Shushunova

Jelena Lvovna Schuschunowa (Russian: Елена Львовна Шушунова; * May 23, 1969 in Leningrad) is a former Soviet gymnast. She was two-time Olympic gold medalist.

At the Olympic Summer Games in Seoul in 1988 Schuschunowa won the all around competition with the Soviet team. In addition, it was also in the individual all-around Olympic champion. Other medals she won at the balance beam ( silver) and on the uneven bars (bronze).

Schuschunowa won a total of eleven medals at the World Gymnastics Championships. The World Gymnastics Championships 1985 in Montreal she became world champion in horse jumping, in individual all-around and in the team all-around. 1987 in Rotterdam, she won two World Cup titles in the horse and jump on the ground.

2004 Jelena Schuschunowa was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame.
