Yoü and I appeared as the fourth single from the album Born This Way. On 16 August 2011, the accompanying music video was released.
Music style
Yoü and I is similar in contrast to other Lady Gaga songs more of a rock ballad with a slow tempo of sixty beats per minute. Queen member Brian May is to be heard as a guitarist. The song refers briefly on Mays queen Composition We Will Rock You. Lady Gaga had the cooperation with May desirable because they Queen - one of their influences - especially the singer Freddie Mercury.
Background
Yoü and I was written by Lady Gaga and produced by Gaga with Robert John " Mutt" Lange. It was one of the first preview songs from the album Born This Way. Lady Gaga said that she wrote the song in New York while she was playing on her old piano. Gaga Yoü and I sang for the first time in Elton John's " White and Tiara Ball" in June 2010. She said the song was a bit like a " rock - and-roll song" and that it's probably not as a single from the album Born This Way will be published, but her very heart lies. At a concert in Montreal, she sang the song during her Monster Ball tour, whereafter their fans on the Internet responded positively. When MSNBC Gaga said that she wrote the song for the most important person she has ever met. Although she did not reveal who this person is, unveiled the People magazine that it is Lüc Carl, Lady Gaga's ex-boyfriend. She told Neil Strauss by Rolling Stone on how she was inspired by the relationship.
"I would not have been as successful without him [ Lüc Carl ] ... I've never really loved anyone like I loved him. Or like I love him. That relationship really shaped me. It made me into a fighter. "
