Rend, zersprenget, smashed the crypt ( BWV 205) is a secular cantata by Johann Sebastian Bach.

Formation

The text of the cantata comes from Christian Friedrich Henrici, known Picander. The cantata was commissioned by the Leipzig students for the hugely popular university professor August Friedrich Müller. At the feast on August 3, 1725 was designed as a " dramma per musica " and as listed with the title " The Contented Aeolus " provided cantata in Leipzig.
