History

Already 744 Zolling was mentioned in one of the oldest instruments in the tradition of the Bishopric of Freising, when a certain Moatbert and his wife Totana on September 12, their property, which they have received from his father Petto, into the hand of the bishop Ermbert and the " Blessed, ever virgin Mother Mary " laid. However, since this land was very extensive, Zolling must have existed before this first mention of a long time. Numerous archaeological finds suggest that the area is already an ancient settlement area. Even the naming suggests, because the place names are created with the "-ing " ending in the early settlement period of the Bavarians in the 6th century, while derived from personal names of the settlers. In Zolling is therefore a man should have called Zollo settled with his family.

Zolling belonged before the secularization of the Bishopric of Freising as a closed Hofmark, which was repealed in 1803 with the high pin. By merger of the former and the Hofmark formerly Lower Bavarian village chairman shaft infirmary was built in 1818 in the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, the independent political community.
