1981 World Series
The World Series 1981 was the 78th edition of the Finals of the Major League Baseball. There were the champions of the American League, the New York Yankees, and the champion of the National League, the Los Angeles Dodgers, over. The best-of- seven series started on 20 October and ended on 28 October 1981. Winner after six games were the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-2, which were able to win their fifth World Series.
As MVP of the series were first awarded in the history of the World Series three players, namely Ron Cey, Pedro Guerrero and Steve Yeager of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Mode
The MLB 1981 season took place in two halves, so that for a Postseason Division Series was introduced, in which stood facing each case the two division winners of the half- series. Following the winner of the Division Series determined the winner of the AL and the NL, which then collided in the World Series.
The hosting of the season into two halves was popular with neither the teams nor the fans, because, for example, the Cincinnati Reds were unable to attend the post-season as the best team in the West Division of the NL.
