Thelma Drake

Thelma Day Drake ( born November 20, 1949 in Elyria, Ohio) is an American politician. Between 2005 and 2009, she represented the state of Virginia in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Thelma Drake attended until 1967, the Elyria High School. She then worked in the real estate industry. At the same time they hit as a member of the Republican Party launched a political career. From 1996 to 2004 she served on the House of Representatives from Virginia.

In the congressional elections of 2004, Drake was in the second electoral district of Virginia in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where they became the successor of Ed Schrock on January 3, 2005. After a re-election she was able to complete in Congress until January 3, 2009, two legislative sessions. These were determined by the events of military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. In 2008, she was defeated Glenn Nye of the Democratic Party.

Today Thelma Drake directs the Authority for Transport and railways of the State of Virginia ( Department of Rail and Public Transit). She is married and has two adult children.
