The 17th arrondissement of Paris, the Arrondissement de Batignolles -Monceaux, is one of 20 arrondissement of the French capital Paris.
In this district you can find bourgeois neighborhoods like the west of Paris, as well as working-class neighborhood in the north. Thus, there is a very heterogeneous population, schematically, one can distinguish three areas: an area with a high proportion of foreigners north of the Avenue de Clichy, a mixed zone between the Avenue de Clichy in the north and the Rue de Tocqueville in the south, which is particularly popular among urban young couples, and an area with large buildings in Haussmann style and a well-off population that is similar to the neighboring 16th arrondissement.
Geographical location
The 17th arrondissement is located on the right bank of the Seine. It is bordered to the east by the 18th, in the south- east on the 8th and on the south by the 16th arrondissement. To the west it borders from north to south on the communities of Saint- Ouen, Clichy, Levallois -Perret and Neuilly -sur -Seine.
