1976–77 Division 1 season (Swedish ice hockey)
The 1976/77 season was the second season of Division 1 as the second highest Swedish hockey league.

Mode
The league was divided into the main round in four groups. The top four teams from each group qualified for the playoffs, where the groups north and west, and the groups fought out South and East common playoffs. The two winners of each playoff group qualified again for the Kvalserien, ascended the top two teams directly in the Elitserien. The two last placed the northern group and the three last placed the other three main round groups rose directly from the Division 2. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
