1976 NFL season

The NFL 1976 season was the 57th season of American Football in the National Football League ( NFL). The regular season began on September 12, 1976, and ended on 12 December 1976. The season ended with the Pro Bowl on January 17th in the Kingdome in Seattle, Washington.

The league was expanded to 28 teams, newly arrived the Seattle Seahawks and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This was one of the terms of the merger in 1966 between the AFL and the NFL, implemented.



Super Bowl XI

The 11th Super Bowl was held on January 9, 1977 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. In the final, the Oakland Raiders met with the Minnesota Vikings, the Oakland Raiders won their first Super Bowl.
