1982 NFL season

The NFL 1982 season was the 63rd season of American Football in the National Football League ( NFL). The regular season began on September 12, 1982 and ended on January 3, 1983. The season ended with the Pro Bowl on February 6 at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii.

A 57 days lasting players strike reduced the 1982 season, the 16 days of the scheduled game regular season to nine. This meant that the play-off arrangements had to be changed. The importance of the division was suspended for this season. In addition, the participants of the play-offs was expanded to eight teams per Conference (otherwise six play-off participants per Connference ).

Super Bowl XVII

The 17th Super Bowl was played on January 30, 1983 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. In the finals, the Miami Dolphins came to the Washington Redskins.
